I think the challenge is in having custom repeats. I frequently need tasks to appear on the first of the month or last Saturday of the month and so on.
Thanks for the prod on this one. This isn't something I've started work on yet, however I have started (just) work on something which will make this more feasible which is to keep a database cache of the parsed org files.

I've been using Beorg for a few months now and it's been a great experience so far. There is only one feature missing to make it perfectly suit my needs. Are there any plans to add support for Special Diary Entries (https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Special-Diary-Entries.html#Special-Diary-Entries)? I use sexp entries to track payment dates and birthdays.
